Innocent Days.....

Today was no different than the others this week. Incredibly gorgeous but we all moved a little more cautious. We played with our little friend Thomson in the park. We cruised over in his cool red wagon.

It was a "kick your boots up and relax" afternoon
They spent a moment checking out each others snacks......big debate between Teddy Grahams, raisins and Cheerios. Lots of "baby speak" babbling going on.

From the way Sinclair stood up and stomped her foot, I think Thomson may have told her he had shared his snack with another pretty blond at nursery school earlier that morning. Whatever went down she got very territorial.

Since it was "Go Texan" day in Houston....we were all about the horse!
We ran into our girlfriend Courtney and little newborn, Jake. She looked incredible and not remotely like she had just had given birth.

The talk among the mommies on the playground all turned to the news of one of our own getting attacked yesterday in our neighborhood. Our community is extremely safe and this Mom was out taking an early morning jog on a very busy street, less than a mile from Casa Chaos. Two men struck her from behind with a bat, shoved her in their trunk and fortunately she was quick thinking enough to release the hatch and got away. It shocked everyone that this woman was attacked during broad daylight and a few hundred yards from a $20 million home with two armed guards. This crime occurred on probably the most active street for traffic and dog walkers. This matches the same crime that occurred last week at a busy shopping center at high noon in our neighborhood. Needless to say, everyone is looking over their shoulders more.
These recent incidents represent the quintessential reason that folks should demand that Kelly Siegler be our District Attorney - no one could bring these types of criminals to justice as she would. I have been preaching this for weeks now, but this sermon really hits home in this week.

Siegler has a 95 percent conviction rate and HAS NOT LOST A CASE IN SEVEN YEARS. She has tried more than 150 jury trials as a first chair prosecutor and is a nationally-recognized expert on capital punishment litigation. She has secured the death penalty in 18 of 19 capital murder cases she has tried. She has successfully prosecuted 15 cold cases and is also known as an effective advocate for victims of crime.

I personally been a victim of a brutal crime and I promise you that I would want Kelly putting whomever hurt my loved ones on the fast track to incarceration. I don't want a learning curve. I want someone who'll just move her framed picture of her family and a toothbrush down the hall to the big office and still keep Harris County's record for being the last place in the USA you want to be when you commit a capital crime.

The polling numbers show Kelly in a virtual dead heat for the lead. Unfortunately, Kelly has spent almost all of her money. The runoff will be here before you know it and we must raise money ASAP. A few folks have offered to host fundraisers, so I am sure Kelly will take you up on that generous offer. In the meantime, please hit up those folks that can help. There is a link on Kelly's website and you can send money via the Internet.
