For the past few weeks our street has been demolished. Which means from sun-up to sun-down lots of heavy equipment and construction....front end loaders, bob cats, fork lifts, a JGL lift and a dump truck or two. My family was in the heavy equipment business for years so I tell Sinclair what each piece of equipment does -- then we wait for them to put it in reverse so she can hear the safety horn ding. She LOVES this! For a month this has been our highest form of entertainment.
Frankly, It has become somewhat of an obsession. As soon as Sinclair gets up in the morning she has her shoes and is out the door to "watch tractors"
After six weeks of seeing this ritual, the crew now knows her and does lots of fancy turns and shows of a little bit just to watch her face light up! I snapped these a moment ago as she is still "girly" and wants her pink coat, her favorite lady bug shoes and doll in one hand and then squeals with delight when she see the front end loaders spin.
Note to my sweet girlfriends, Lee and Lauri: When was the last time your girls watched this in the Upper East side of Manhattan or in Palm Beach??? They just have no idea what they are missing here in Texas!
When she was done she gave her standard "Miss America wave" and then "Ami" a kiss for holding her patiently....Note to Bo and Leigh: Although, realistically, she will be too tall for Miss America system - she will definitely have a talent. I can see it now, she can work a forklift on stage for the talent competition!
