Here is the website to register for organ donation, if you are so inclined.
It takes about 1 minute to give them your info, then they send you an organ donor card.
The DPS no longer does this..here is the website to register donor info, if so inclined..........

Doubt there is any part of me they would want, but what the heck - just signed up anyway!
Thanks Kristi!
````````````````````HA`A WHEN ISthe last time you grocery shopped? but they are germ havens.
Over half of the 99,000 Americans on the national transplant waiting list will die before they get a transplant. Most of these deaths are needless. Americans bury or cremate about 20,000 transplantable organs every year. Over 6,000 of our neighbors suffer and die needlessly every year as a result.
There is a simple way to put a big dent in the organ shortage -- give organs first to people who have agreed to donate their own organs when they die.
Giving organs first to organ donors will convince more people to register as organ donors. It will also make the organ allocation system fairer. People who aren't willing to share the gift of life should go to the back of the waiting list as long as there is a shortage of organs.
Anyone who wants to donate their organs to others who have agreed to donate theirs can join LifeSharers. LifeSharers is a non-profit network of organ donors who agree to offer their organs first to other organ donors when they die. Membership is free at www.lifesharers.org or by calling 1-888-ORGAN88. There is no age limit, parents can enroll their minor children, and no one is excluded due to any pre-existing medical condition.
Hey KK
I dodn't know what precipitated this post, but I for one am all for it. I just don't understand why everyone doesn't donate. Here in Oklahoma, you can do it on a license, but in addition, ALL of my family knows my views on this, so they will definitely make sure anything I have is o.k. to take. I even asked my CHILDREN (the oldest 2 are 12 and 14) if it would be their wish, God forbid, to donate, and my 12 year old (genius) son, asked, "if I'm dead, why would I want them (organs)?"
Tamara, good for you and your son. Too bad more people don't feel this way. I agree wholeheartedly with your son - after "we" are gone, we sure don't need whatever parts they wanna take from us to possibly help someone else.
Could be mistaken,but I believe there are some religions that do not allow organ donation of any kind, but don't quote me on that.
Thanks - I signed up. What happened to Ryland's blog? Is she OK?
Kristi, I appreciate you posting about organ donations. The best man at my wedding, who is only 57 and in great shape, will need a heart transplant. Kinda helps you focus on the fleeting nature of life, huh? Anyway, thx for helping to keep this issue in front of people.
