), alleging that Victoria slammed her against a bathroom door, shoved her aside while elbowing her in the left breast - this is in turn is the result of her having cramps in her posterior orifice. Yes, that would be Hemorrhoids. I am still stumped as how a hemorrhoid claim ended up in the lawsuit.
I was not on the flight, obviously, but it just smells of someone looking to cash in on an ego-filled altercation that was unpleasant for all involved. Especially, if you can attempt to prove you potentially got "bumped" by a minister's wife and it caused hemorrhoids. If the Ms Brown's team can prove that then we need to put her on the JFK Conspiracy theory.
Brown's psychiatrist, Shayna Lee, testified that Ms. Brown has been depressed and suffered post-traumatic stress disorder because of the incident with Mrs. Osteen. She also felt "disrespected in her role as a black woman leader and her faith was affected" Obviously this woman never had much faith to start with. In fact, her "faith" is thinner than the walls of her posterior orifice. It was an incident with another human being -- it was not like God came down and pushed you himself. Stuff happens. People have bad days and behave inappropriately.
I started thinking last night how many various situations congregations "faith could have been affected" when their leaders have disappointed them. Let's start out with the all-might world's largest tax shelter, the Catholic Church that for years has been hiding the molestation of children. Then we have the basic leaders gone bad: Jimmy Swaggert, Jim and Tammy Faye that swindled the PTL out of millions, Ted Haggert that abused drugs with a male prostitute on numerous occasions. The list is a long one.
My husband called from out of town last night and was not aware of the headline news of the Osteen family. Initially, I do not think he believed me when I mentioned the flight attendant was suing over hemorrhoids. He said "the judge will toss it out" I explained they already placed the jury and he was stunned. What I do not think is fair is Victoria Osteen and her family have been persecuted for flying first class, vacationing in Vail, writing best-selling books and having a 45,000 person congregation. In the mind of many they "should pay" -- they have become a target of their own success. I am incensed and disappointed listening to others ready to crucify Ms. Osteen because they are building a lovely new home on an expansive lot, that includes a room for spray tanning. Not sure if that is true, but it adds fuel to the fire.
The Osteen's gladly paid their $3000 fine to the FAA for holding up the flight that day -- move on and let our judicial system focus on the real bad guys.
I can tell you "What Jesus would do" he would probably say "Get off the cross, Ms Brown -- We need the wood!"

What is the difference between a pit bull and a flight attendant? Answer: Lipstick.
What a joke this opportunistic hag is! Is it any wonder we hate defense attorneys. The Osteens should not have to endure such persecution. Hopefully, they have learned their lesson and will travel by private jet from now on.
Seems Ms. Brown has a knack for filing claims.... hope they bring her history into this trial. Appears she struck on a "rich meal ticket" and is trying to get it punched. If it were my business and I were paying people, I'd control what they say about the business and issues that happen on paid time, what they do off the clock is their business.
I think the Osteens have a good defamation suit against Ms Brown in the very near future.
But knowing them (only thru the media tho), they probably won't do something like that. But I would support them in doing so.
Obviously Ms. Brown wants to leave the "friendly skies" and retire with the money she could get from Osteen. And, of course, give a fat tip to her colleague who testified on her behalf. Could the jury be that naive, and don't see that Brown is after the money? I hope the jurors are not.
I am from PA -- you crack me up! Very Very funny reads
I enjoy! keep it up
I think the difference, though, in the Osteen's job and a normal person who earns a great living is that the latter person gets an education and works his/her way up the ladder for his, while Mr Osteen, et.al inherited this ministry, for which a bucket is passed around for his great living. In other words, and I say this as a Christian who reads Joel's books, everything the Osteen's have is a result of the "gimme, gimme's, only from their end. So, my lack of sympathy comes from there. People are certainly free to give where they want, but, since most ministers don't even crack the 6-figure mark, to see one making 7 or 8 figures and then have a wife who isn't kissing the feet of those who helped provide that living is really kind of disgusting. Who does she think she is?
Also, Ms. Brown IS after the $$, no question. BUT, remember, so is Mrs. O...from all of us. I guess I jus can't get past Miss Vicki's attitude to see anything else.
From a huge fan in DC -- you ROCK
Amen! I couldn't have said it any better myself. The fine has been paid and everyone should just move on. I'm absolutely sure Mrs. Osteen has learned a valuable lesson. I don't know about Ms. Brown, though.
If Mrs. Brown can't handle a little altercation on an airplane she should lose the lawsuit as well as her job.
A response to a previous comment:
..."et.al inherited this ministry, for which a bucket is passed around for his great living."...
I am not a christian and not religious AT ALL but I DO HAPPEN TO KNOW that the Osteen's DO NOT receive a pay check from the church. He makes his money solely from the sale of his books and personal appearances. And one can "inherit a ministry" but one cannot make it a success if one cannot inspire the people. His father may have started the church, but it is because of Joel's charisma that it is what it is today.
These are just the facts that you obviously need to know. He makes his "buckets of money" by working hard just like everyone else. I have no feeling about them one way or another, but this I do know.
(you might point this out, Kristi, as clearly people do not know this)
I am proud of you - YOU GO GIRL!!!

To everyone defending Mr. and Mrs. O, I think this suit should be thrown out honestly. I am not up for all this oh I got pumped, or oh I spilled the coffee on my crotch I'm going to sue crap. But, the reason they are so rich is because Mr. O preaches a feel good false message about God and Jesus. Maybe God is using an evil in our eyes to right Mr. O's wrongs.
What would Jesus do? Where should we start? He wouldn't get into an altercation with a flight attendant. He wouldn't be sitting in first class. He wouldn't build a huge house on an "expansive" lot with OR without room for spray tanning. He also wouldn't vacation in Vail. Finally, I believe the Bible's message on the trappings of wealth is quite clear.
Victoria Osteen behaved like a spoiled brat most likely because she is one. The true test of character isn't how one behaves under perfect circumstances; it's how one behaves under the worst circumstances. Right, the flight attendant was no better but she isn't married to a popular televangelist who makes a living selling Jesus' message.
Any sane person with enough money knows that you have to fly private charter these days, anyhow, because first class is nothing but frequent flier riff-raff upgrading with points and the hassle of commercial airports is almost unbearable.
Lastly, while the hemorrhoid claim makes good copy the basis for it (not that I agree with it) is that the emotional distress from this incident has led to anxiety-type issues which affect the plaintiff's stomach/bowels which in turn led to the 'roids. It has basis in medicine, whether true or not in this case.
I would still like to hear from people who have personal knowledge/relationships with Stewardess Brown and Co-Pastor Osteen and their behavior, demeanor and attitude. Is Stewardess Brown really a money-grubbing loser and Co-Pastor Osteen a spoiled domineering overbearing prima donna in real life?
In looking at the situation, I have come to the conclusion that if Jesus Christ, Himself, were to have been on that plane to an expensive resort area to celebrate His own birthday (which, from reading the Bible, He rarely frequented), He probably would have been in coach, instead of first class, and if there was some liquid on the arm of his seat, He would have either wiped it up Himself, or turned it into wine (as the Bible says He did) and made sure everyone had a glass (feeding the multitudes), and would have set out to save souls, not get irate with someone and slam them against a lavatory door!
How ridiculous that a judge would even allow a case such as this against Victoria Osteen even be heard in his court. Come on. What's happened to common sense? No wonder we have so many attorneys if someone can sue another for 10 percent of their net worth income for an alleged incident as frivolous as this, and a lawyer can take the case on a percentage of the award.
If I were the judge, I would have had Sharon Brown and her attorney doing chores at the Osteens' house every weekend for three months as punishment for wasting taxpayer dollars in bringing such a lawsuit before me. It's pretty easy to see in the award being sought by Brown that she is more concerned with a big payday she did nothing to earn it than with the alleged mental stress caused.
I doubt you would hear from anyone here that knows Brown, I doubt she even owns a computer.
The judge presiding over this case should be ashamed of themself for allowing this garbage to even go to trial!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dismiss this fraudelent Crap!!!
I wonder what Ms Brown's hemorrhoids will feel like once she figures out she has embarrassed herself and wont be getting one red cent. Hilarious!
I wonder what Ms Brown's hemorrhoids will feel like once she figures out she has embarrassed herself and wont be getting one red cent. Hilarious!
"Without me....er.....rusty, Victoria would be in prison."
Brown's atty is WAY OUT OF HIS LEAGUE. He's not even qualified to carry Rusty Hardins briefcase. Hardin hasn't even begun his questioning yet....the best is yet to come! I thought it was cool how Joel told Browns attorney God wants to bless all His children....even him and Ms. Brown. I'll bet he went back to his seat with his tail tucked between his legs after that answer. WAY TO GO JOEL.....SCORE ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS!!!
Both sides make me sick, the flight attendant for being greedy and the osteens for well, being greedy! The osteens make me sick, they hide behind religion and have an air of entitlement. This whole thing is a circus. Maybe Rusty hardin can have joel & vicky pray for roger clemens!
Just out of curiosity, where is Continental in all of this mess? I noticed only Ms. Brown is sueing on own behalf. 10% of Victoria's worth....how do you come up with that number? Can we all recognized this is gold digging effort? Typical litigation trash that is going on in this country. Until the justice system and those uphold its law can act accordingly.
All of you whining about the Osteens flying first class and being too good for the "common people": Let me get this straight. If you had the money to afford to treat your family to first class flying on vacation, you WOULDN'T do it, right? You'd still fly coach because it's the "right thing to do." Just checking. You are acting like Osteen is the devil himself for flying first class. This man has helped thousands of people...he's helped me and I've never paid him a dime. If you want to complain about character and air-flight, complain about our out-going president. He has faulted millions of people...and he gets his own plane.
tell you what...you write a book thats a New York Times best seller, earns you that kind of money, and then lets see you fly coach anywhere. If you do your homework you'd find out that Joel and Victoria take no money from the church at all....no salary, NADA! All their income is from the books he's written. NOW...again....if you ever are fortunate enough to earn that type of an income, lets see if you don't enjoy a little of the things this life has to offer. Oh yea...one more thing...lets see you do 20+ speaking engagements...not including book signings and talk shows... per year all over the country and not try to relax and unwind a little.
Now This Lawyer is serious, why is he bringing sermons parts to court, when this got nothing to do in the case. Ms. Brown, say good bye to your position as a Flight Attendant for a well known airline (Continental) as well as the other 4 that are your "witnessess" I am wondering what the Continental Management are saying about this case.
KK first of all, LOVE your blog - perfect combo of your precious family and current events
It is funny how the haters on the blog attack the Osteen's because of their wealth, religion, and success. None of them say anything about the rediculous lawsuit, which is what this case is about. This case is not a referendum on Joel, his wife, his wealth, or his church it is about the factual events of that day. I gave seen some serious butt kickings in my life....but never one that led to hemorrhoids. TOO FUNNY! No amount of money is worth the public redicule and humiliation this idiot plaintiff has subjected upon herself. HAVE SOME PRIDE!
If she can NOT SIT, YOU MUST ACQUIT
Sounds as if the Osteens, their church, beliefs, teachings, life, etc...are all on trial. Positivity is not a bad thing folks! People (pastors and their wives) are human. Even the apostles made mistakes and were subject to human shortcomings. After dealing with the negativities of life, I am thankful for some positivity and reminder that God is good...and wants to do good for all of his children. I have attended several Lakewood services when John Osteen was alive. I've watched Joel and enjoyed listening to Dodie, too...They offer hope to many people. I've never felt any pressure to support their church monetarily...it's called an offering! Tithes are taught in many, many churches...it is Bible based teaching. See Malachi chapter 3...
Mrs. Osteen has it all; good looks, great family, productive, happy, healthy, and a good citizen in our community. Ms. Brown is jealous and wants to take that from her with a petty lawsuit. What I am wondering is how she can sleep at night or look in the mirror at herself. And why MS. Brown thinks she is entitled to take 10% of Mrs Osteen's net worth. Any person can sue for any petty reason and the person being sued has to defend themselves against such allegations. What is wrong with our judicial system for accepting this kind of petty nonsense? Where do we draw the line?It seems to me Ms. Brown should haven taken the chip off her shoulder and wiped up the spill. Instead she is being rewarded for her incompetence and bad attitude!!
Does anyone know the makeup of the jury....you certainly know where I am going on this, let’s get the rich, successful prominent preachers wife, etc., attitude. Ms. Brown obviously has a clear agenda of wanting to drag this in the press and milk this for all she can get out of it, $$$$$$$ and her 15 minutes of fame. The court has more important issues to deal with, what a waste of time.
I believe this trial is a total waste of taxpayers money. I don't have a lot of confidence in the city of Houston or Harris county right now anyway. I am sure Ms. Brown will write a book on this subject and try to make money too. All I can say to her is, get a life
I believe that when ever someone pays (no matter whom it is) a 1st class ticket on any airline should receive the best service. That is what you are paying the extra money. Continental should make sure the seats and tables are clean prior than allowing anyone to go in and seat. Would you all seat in a dirty or wet seat? I personally wouldn’t. Especially, when you don't exactly know what that liquid is. I would consider that lack of proper service from the airline itself. Continental should make sure that there customers are properly care for that is why we use their service.
Well as I see it ( and I am a Continental employee speaking for myself and not Continental) I think Ms. Brown saw $$$$$$$$ signs the second the Osteens boarded the plane. Now, I don't know the Osteens and have never met them and don't wish to either as I am a firm believer that true men of God live a more humble life and do not do the work of God to glorify themselves. That is how I perceive the Osteens and this is about what goes around comes around. If they lived a more humble lifestyle and didn't flash their money then people who file frivolous lawsuits wouldn't be seeing $$$$$$ signs when they confront them. it is a huge waste of taxpayer money and if Ms. Brown wins she should have to foot the bill for it. because 10% of Ms. Osteen's net worth is probably a whole lot of money.
I'm curious how people would feel about this if the flight attendant announced from the beginning that 100% of any damages awarded in this trial would go to charity. What if she was just suing on principle? That people who are too full of themselves need to be taken down a peg once in a while.
What would you think about it, then?
Ridiculous. As someone who has been involved (unwillingly) in a frivolous lawsuit, these stories make my blood boil!!!! How could this even go to trial. Its absurd, and lawsuit abuse in our country is something that definetly needs to be addressed vigorously by someone who gives a hoot.
Whether frivolous or not, whether right or wrong, I feel there is reaping and sowing in effect with this case.
What you put out in to the world, you get in return. When Mrs Osteen admitted to telling Ms Brown that it 'wasn't her job' to clean a quarter-sized spill after being handed napkins, that told me all I needed to know about her.
That incident was probably not the first time Mrs Osteen's attitude and temper has found her in hot water, just the first time it's been made public.
God is revealing her true self to the millions who follow them. God is a jealous God who will not be mocked, not even by Victoria Osteen.
Be careful who you worship, folks.
I agree with the legal analyst from channel 13. The Osteen's had settled something previous out of court and Brown probably thought she could get some money out of them. I don't think Vic should have acted like she did in public or Brown should have brought on the law suit.
