Chic Despite.....

Boom-Boom our pet chicken came back for his "timeshare" visit again this weekend.  As most of you recall we hatched eggs for Easter and the result was "Boom Boom" and "Peep Peep" 

Boom-Boom travels in his own doggie carrier and gets a furlough on the weekends from (our housekeeper) CoCo's little farm.  Sinclair  puts him on a leash and he follows her, the dogs don't bother him and I am convinced he is on his best "Country Club" behavior in hopes he can get a permanent place at Casa Chaos.

I think my fancy neighbors would not feel the love for this bird as much as Sinclair does.  Although, I am confidant the coyotes would love to make their way up our bayou to make friends in the evening.

You think there is a place on Leno or Letterman for a 2 year old that trains her pet chicken to have tea party??

I know Sinclair thinks if she hides him in her playhouse that we will forget he is in there.

I chuckled to myself thinking of our wonderful friend and brilliant interior designer, Mel who passed away from cancer a few months ago.   Mel had quite the following and did estates all over the world, but he was based in Beverly Hills, although he was born in a small town in West Texas.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of Mel and miss him dearly.  He would have teased me relentlessly (and fussed) about wasting all his design skills on choosing fine fabrics and "creating ambiance" so a damn chicken could crap all over Rose Tarlow chairs. I can hear his voice in my head getting "pissy" with me now...telling me (something like) he does not design for "Ellie Mae Clampett" 

My best gal Ryland refers to it as "Chic Despite"
