Blackberry Eulogy

Everyone that has ever encountered my son Daniel knows he is infamous for his political views and hilariously witty banter.  Yesterday when I was having a very nervous day all alone on the West Coast I got this email from him and it brought a smile to my heart and a loud chuckle to everyone around me.

This past weekend, during Daniel's birthday his blackberry unfortunately got wet and could not be resuscitated. 

Blackberry Eulogy: 

After a lengthy tour of devoted service that saw her bravely battle the elements and physics of our brutal world, both personally and professionally, my Blackberry passed away in her sleep late last night.  She has taken recently ill following a swimming accident that left her without communications capabilities, but had shown signs of steady improvement up until her final moments.    Unfortunately, despite consultation and review with with a trauma team of "wet PDA experts" , Doctors were unable to revive her with hairdryer, or oven or even a desperate plea from a Witch Doctor to slow the inevitable.

Following a brief ceremony this evening at Azuma, she will be laid to rest at the Metro Rail tracks at the intersection of Main and Texas.  She is survived by her new baby sisters, Pearl Colored Ipod and the white Ipod and the latest addition to the family, the Blackberry Curve. She is also survived by a long family of blackberry worshipers, including many cousins the Blackberry 8800, the Blackberry Pearl and a bedazzled Curve and iPhone.   She was the longest living electronic device belonging to Daniel Schiller. 

In lieu of flowers all donations are made to the "Casa Chaos Blackberry Replacement fund"
