WOW! I arose this morning to over 922 emails from people wanting to be added to the privatization of my blog. VERY TOUCHING! I had people from as far as UK, Athens, Australia and Berlin. The emails are still pouring in by the hundreds. THANK YOU for all the kind words from the bottom of my heart!
First of all, let me say, I am very proud of the people serving for our great country. I am a registered Republican and have been long before I met my husband. I am the Liberal-Progressives worst nightmare. I believe in the First Amendment and the Right to Bear Arms. I have a concealed handgun license. I think owning a gun does not make you a killer, it makes one a smart American. I also believe in Gay Marriage and in Stem-Cell research. I believe in Immigration Reform. Yet, I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. I believe in the "Right to Choose" on many levels, especially a Woman's Right. I believe the money I make belongs to my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican. I am in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.
I have raised money for many political candidates, generally Republicans, alas I have given money to Democrats on a few occasions. Hell, I was raised in the same neighborhood (within two miles) of Dr. Ron Paul -- yes, for those that did not know, the Libertarian Presidential candidate is also my little Texas town's Obstetrician. Small world.
Three of the most charismatic people I have ever met in my life have been Bill Clinton, Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards and former Texas Governor Ann Richards -- all Democrats and none of which I voted for but whom I had various degrees of respect and admiration, Edwards for mainly entertainment value.
My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers and whoever cancelled Jerry Springer.
I have never owned a slave, or was a slave, I have not buried any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and I am confidant, neither have you. If you do not like the way things our here, go back to where you came from and change that country. This is AMERICA. If you were born here and do not like it, you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you.
I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one?
I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I do not want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making "donations" to their cause. I find myself always getting "suckered" in.
I have a serious strain of staph (which thanks to an amazing medical team we have under control) NOT cancer and have never had any form of cancer.
My daughter's first name was chosen from a family name. End of story.
I do not think it takes a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.
As far as defending the oil business, independent and Majors included this is an open-ended topic that people way smarter than myself have filibustered for decades. Bottom line, if you do not support American oil producers you are forced to rely on countries that do not have our best interest in mind. We do not want to have to rely on countries and leaders we consider the enemy and bash in the State of the Union address. The US needs to be energy independent or we become at the control of Chavez or the Saudis, that has the most influence. Do you think Sadaam was a boy scout?? Do I think it was ironic we invaded an "oily" country? Of course not. Do you think that honestly, is it a toss up over Chavez and Kim Jong-il over humanitarian of the year? The US oil companies are doing as much as they can to find the oil and gas reserves that we have. The gas prices are driven by demand, which constitutes the lack of supply. Bottom line, if you do not like it, stop driving. If you want more logical possibilities write/call/email your Congressman and vote for drilling off Florida, the coast off of Maine, California, the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. I can assure you, there is not a caribou in Alaska that is going to go to call Dr Phil for an emergency therapy session if he sees an oil platform.
There are alternatives being created as I type. Billionaire Texas tycoon, T. Boone Pickens has devised the Pickens Plan as a source of an alternative for our dependency on oil. Boone wants to wean us off our $700 billion dollar foreign crude habit. It is a start, maybe not the answer. Alas, in the words of TBP "A fool with a plan beats a genius with no plan"
I am confidant by now some Green Peace (tree hugger) is seething over my last few comments. It is NOT meant to make you mad, honestly.
Some people may think I am out of touch with reality -- I agree on some level. I can take it on the chin. Alas, some of these vocalists are the same people that think we should mow down all the Wal-Mart' in America because they have production in China.
If all this makes me a "Bad American", then yes, I am a "Bad American"
Privatizing my blog is SUCH a pain....which is why I have opted NOT to for now. There is nothing I love more than great banter. I respect if you do not wish to read my blog. That is the glory of your "Right to Choose"
Peace.

Goodness, I had a feeling this had something to do with oil/ your political perspectives etc. There are so many struggling to get by now that gas prices have skyrocketed- I am sure to many it feels like a kick in the crotch to read about someone living the good life off oil money...however, we are talking about a real person's life and lashing out or making a person feel unsafe is not the answer. I hope this is not what you're experiencing!
I love your blog - you are funny, a very talented writer and an uplight to my usually drab and hectic day
Keep rock'n!
passing through FBO saw a G5 with KS on the tail ....I knew it had to be you!
Kristi, I enjoy reading your blog. I don't necessarily agree with every thing, but that's what makes life interesting. I can disagree while still being pleasant and respectful.
I'm sorry if you have had some unpleasant incidents, which it sounds like you have, but I am glad you are keeping the blog open.
I'm also glad to hear that your MRSA treatment is working. What a nightmare you have gone through with that.
Best regards,

please keep me on your elite blog list. I enjoy your blog so much and think you are a down-to-earth VERY FUNNY and charming girl. I am a registered Republican too and I have only voted for Republican candidates since voting for Bush in 1988 shortly after my 18th birthday. It is extremely refreshing to read your take on subjects after reading the typical boring female/mom blog. I enjoy others points of view, but no one has your humor --- I certainly cannot identify with their PC, liberal viewpoints.
I admit I do not understand enough about oil perspective to discuss prices but I have never trusted extremists in any arena. There are ways to protect the environment with out putting a stop to industry and innovation. I laughed OUT LOUD when I read your comment about the Caribou --- I cannot wait to share that quote with my husband and forwarded it to many
Thanks for sharing with us! PLEASE WRITE A BOOK

Hi - I have met you on numerous occasions - I worked with John at OEI when I worked for John Brock. (and still work with John Brock) but most of all, Kim and Joe Reid are our best friends. (they were our best man and maid of honor) so I dont know if you recall me. that being said I am truly fascinated with your blog. Could I get the new address or be kept on any list you have? Before I started reading your blog over a year ago I would run into Kari downtown and she would periodically update me on you and John. I am also good friends with PK and he lets me know what is going on with you all. With all that said, reading the blog is THE BEST and MOST ENTERTAINING!!! You are too too funny. The best part is you totally tell it like it is!!! You go girl!! You letter to the Continental CEO was the MOST OUTSTANDING and HILARIOUS letter ever!!! The best part is when you busted them not only about the changing tables but if the CEO is flying coach maybe he needs someone to negotiate him with his employment contract!!! I was crying it was so funny!
It goes without saying your daughter is beautiful and the things you write her that she will read from now is very touching to say the least. (tears in the eyes)
On another note, I truly wish you the best with your most serious bout with staph. I know how serious that stuff is. My cousin had it or something similar in the valve of her heart - she recovered and is doing well now.
I hope to see you all sometime
Take care and I really love reading your stuff

Hello Kristi
I have never written you or commented on your blog because I do not own a computer at home. So, I use the one at work - you are the first thing I check in the morning and throughout the day. I dont think my boss would be thrilled but if they read your blog they would be just as addicted as I am .
That is the reason that I usually do not comment But I seriously enjoy and love your blog. I think you are courageous, honest, loyal, gorgeous and a very loving person. yes, you have a great family - beautiful little girl too. I pray for you all the time and I hope your Dr's and antibiotics really start to work and you have a full recovery. I have heard of that infection before but had no idea what details a person had to go through. May GOD bless you and your family and thank GOD he gave you a wonderful husband (you obviously worship) that has stood by you. A lot of men would not have. You are truly a wonderful person - I can tell this and you deserve all the hapiness life has to offer
Your daughter reminds me so much of my grand daughter Cheyenne, no only do they love Dora - swimming and counting in Spanish btu they look a lot alike. they both have blonde curly hair, big eyes (although Sinclair's are bright blue - my gd's is very dark brown) same facial features and they look to be the same size. they both have an effect on people you cannot help but love them and adore them - Sinclair is obviously so sweet loving and kind to all. Captures your heart immediately
anyway, please allow me to keep reading your blog - if not, I will keep you in my prayers for you and your family
God Bless
Love to Casa Chaos

you and I do not know one another and I do know if you are only extending this to close friends and family. Which of course would be understandable - but I would love more than anything if I could keep reading your blog. I live for your adventures and your refreshing perspectives. I stumbled across your blog and was immediately sucked in addicted to reading your archives which took me a while. Aside with the total fascination I have with your life - which is TOTALLY different than mine - I love the positive warm spirit that shines through your writings. You should SERIOUSLY consider writing a book. I have been following your medical ordeal closely and thought I have not de-lurked to post a comment saying so you are in my thoughts and prayers. I check your blog daily hoping you have good news to share. So from one Texas gal to another (I am originally from Dallas) Thank you for sharing your life and your hilarious stories - I hope to continue to read and enjoy

please count me in as one person who thinks your blog ROCKS. I would love to keep reading. You are a very funny, talented writer!

It's a shame people can't respect an honest company. The oil industry was created and fueled by the demand of American citizens and there are other places to drill on American soil as you mentioned.
Good luck, and keep writing.
Hi Kristi,
Sorry you've been getting flak from readers about your political views. I have to say, I'm not surprised and I was kind of waiting for this to happen, esp. seeing as how you were directing traffic from dooce.com. Voices like yours are few and far between on the internet. Which is exactly why I love it! We probably differ in opinion on just about everything but I have a tremendous amount of respect for someone who is willing to articulately defend their beliefs. And you're a pretty entertaining writer. :) Please add me to your list as well. Best of luck. smallstatic@hotmail.com
Ugh...it's all so crystal clear now...
NEVER APOLOGIZE for your many blessings, what you believe or what you have achieved 'cause in reality, whomever is giving you sh@! about what you say and how your life is is nothing more than insanely jealous. Heck, I’m jealous and I’m not that far off. EVERYBODY out there would like to have the lifestyle we have (well, you more than me, it seems, but still...we're very comfortable). I know I'm lucky, but I'll never apologize for what I have. If you spend your life feeling badly for the "have nots" then you'll drive yourself crazy. I'm all for philanthropy, believe me...but everything in moderation. There will always be someone out there who is worse off than the worst off, but we can't save them all. You keep buying your Hermes and flying on the jet and I'll keep driving my Rover. And I'm not sorry about it. THAT’S RIGHT! I F-ING LOVE MY RANGE ROVER! AND MY COUNTRY CLUB MEMBERSHIP! SO THERE! And anyone who says otherwise is a martyr and a liar.
Oh…and I love my Exxon stock that I got from my great-grandparents!! So oil…keep on truckin’! And I’ll keep filling up the Rover…at the Exxon station!
And did someone actually comment about Sinclair’s NAME??? Huh? Geezus! I just thought it was a cute and clever name! Haters! DO NOT mess with babies! That’s WAY out of line.
And now, as far as your politics, or mine...Isn't it funny how all the "tree huggers", liberals, PETA enthusiasts are supposed to be so peaceful and loving and la,la,la, and YET...THEY are the ones who are the first to get violently and publicly judgmental against those who do not agree with them. It is hypocrisy at its finest. What if we started attacking them for their beliefs?...Ah…but then WE wouldn’t, would we? That’s right…evil, horrible, republican, meat eating, conspicuous consumers that we are…we are not the ones on the attack. BUT WE ARE PAYING 40% OF EVERY DOLLAR WE MAKE TO THE GOVERNMENT!!! And what’s not going to the government we are pouring right back in to the economy…so SHUT UP already. People are so ignorant! I personally think that people who don’t eat meat are strange…and let’s talk about how fiscally irresponsible it is to lash out against meat eaters!!...Tell it to the cattle ranchers and meat packers…Yeah, great idea…let’s all stop eating meat. Idiots. Not to mention how BAD IT IS for your health not to eat meat. Ask any cancer survivor. Meanwhile, we’re not cramming republicanism down their throats. Let’s take to the streets and throw meat at the vegetarians?......
God, I’m rambling. Bottom line, if these idiots don’t like what you have to say, then they don’t have to read. But know this…If they could trade places, well, they’d be typing this right now. Don’t explain yourself to these a-holes. Don’t apologize. And don’t read their hateful messages. And go buy another purse right away. It’ll make you feel better.
CC
Remind me WHY we are not BFF's????????????
I never graduated to Hermes, I stick with LV, and I am a tried and true Dem., though not a Bleeding Heart Liberal. I don't support gay marriage and I do support illegal immigrant reform.
See, there is room in the middle...
Blog on.
Oh! And about the guns….does anyone out there really think that the psychopathic, gang-banger, murderers are getting their weaponry through legal means? Do you think that they are going and taking the hand gun class and then skipping into Oshman’s, filling out the proper paper work and waiting their turn to BUY a gun…or two? If you think this, then put down the bong immediately. Law-abiding citizens buying guns for protection or for sport ARE NOT THE PROBLEM IN THIS COUNTRY. THE NRA IS NOT THE PROBLEM. IDIOTS. And because we are not going to meet in a back alley and belly up to the trunk of a pitch black Mercedes to pay cash for an illegal weapon, we need the means and the ability to buy them legally. AND WE HAVE THE RIGTH TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND OUR FAMILIES.
I have a 9mm Beretta in my bed side table and I know how to use it. Woe be unto the person who comes into my house and threatens my family. And to all the “ladies who lunch” out there who think that’s “scary”…you’ll feel very silly (if not worse) waiting there for someone to save you. Kristi has the right idea…and she’s a TEXAS girl! It’s in the genes…
And as for the “hunter haters”…you know who you are. We have a LARGE ranch in west Texas and a very strict game management procedure. Here are the facts: if you do not cull a certain number of deer from the property each year they will die of starvation…or be hit by cars. I suppose that’s better than the alternative? We use all of the meat from the deer we kill, or donate the meat to charity. So stop whining about Bambi. It’s not cute.
Educate yourselves before you adopt your positions and then pass judgment. Because you sound like fools.
Ironically, I support Gay Marriage, the right to bear arms, illegal immigrant reform .....there is LOTS of room in the middle
thanks
I think that you are a hoot. I was given your information by Glen at McGinnis....and I have been addicted to your blog since. We are the company that does all of his after market stuff in their vehicles.
My two little ones took a nap on saturday and I threw house cleaning out the window and endulged myself into your blog. I love that you speak you mind and your peace at the same time.
The letter that you wrote to Sinclair,,,,wow you are an awesome mom. She needs to be in baby mags and you in Vogue.
I love the fact that you are down to earth but yet have a Hermmes Collection..you rock!!!
I can not wait to meet you in person...Feel free to look at my website too....www.CTCUSTOMS.com not near the comic relief of yours.
Please do not set your blog to private and if so hook me up....ha ha Your writing is addicting you need to write books...I would buy them all.
Keep up the awesome blogs
Look forward to hookin your car up like that crazy astronaunt who wore the diapers 900 miles...ha ha
Also keeping you in my thoughts and prayers with the Staph....but I know in my heart that a class act like you with the outlook and attitude that you have is going to kick its annoying little a**!!! ha ha

It’ll make you feel better."

To say this individual is unbelievably shallow, vain and arrogant is a gross understatement. I could go on (and on) but what's the use? Good luck honey with your "Rover" and Exxon stock from grandparents!

This must be from one of the people who like to tell Kristi everything that's wrong with her and her life. It must be very sad to take everything so seriously in life...and very boring. Take my comments with the spirit in which they were intended...which is to say...You have to right to judge those you do not know...based on what they drive and their income level. And if you KNEW ME, you would never describe me as shallow, vain, or arrogant. Stress and negativity like that is very bad for you, "honey".

I hope life gets better for you!
My life is just fine, "honey" .. don't you worry about me :)
I was raised on the premise that *real* people of means didn't have to go around singing their own praises, calling attention to themselves, and that people that DID were 'new money' .. enough said. Have a good day!

Are you having a bad day?
If you want to back-bite and hate on people, you're in the wrong forum. Re-read this person's post. Firstly, it was intended for the blogger. Secondly, I think it's great that she appreciates and loves her life. And lastly, no one here is bashing other post-ers. What is wrong with you? Look at the pictures of the darling whale and CHILL OUT already. And you really should apologize. Very rude behavior.
Sorry if you misunderstood. What I write had NOTHING to do with KK's blog. In fact, I love this woman's wit, charm and obvious class. But while we're at it, who the H are YOU - the blog police? Get a grip, please.

There it is again! You should throw that keyboard out the window.
And it's impossible to "misunderstand" you calling ANYONE "shallow, vain, and arrogant". It's rude, rude, rude under any circumstance.
And you obviously have zero respect for KK since you are using her blog to spread your judgement and negativity...something she would NEVER do and absolutely HATES. She does have class, and you could learn a thing or two...
Oh for God's sakes GROW UP!
Just so everyone knows...I am one of KK's biggest fans, BFFs and her 'magic maker' - Auntie Leighbee. I voted (and caucused) for Hillary and plan to vote for Obama - and guess what - she hasn't pulled her Glock on me once!!!
We may disagree on some things, but there is truly no one with a bigger heart who would do absolutely anything for those she loves and cares about.
Good thing you haters don't live in our neck of the woods. KK has a fan club and her posse is strong!
XOXO

is it not the amazing power of the net that a rich soccer Mom can garner this kind of following
YOU GO GIRL
Kristi,
Well, I guess I understand now what you must have endured from posters on your site as I have endured a most hateful message in response to my post to you. If only that person, like my friends and family, knew the source of my love of my "Rover" (which began on Safari on Africa and not in some rap video) and the endless prodding it took to convince my husband that spending that much on a car is "totally worth it"...we made a lot of deals between us for that one...or most importantly, that my "Rover" was his gift to me (one of them) for having our first child...well maybe then that person would not have been so quick to judge and so cruel. Maybe then he/she would laugh about my "love of the Rover" as we all do...just maybe...
I wonder if people stop to consider how their cruel judgements affect others? Would they still go ahead with their stinging barbs? Would they do it if we knew who they were?
As idiotic as it is to allow a strangers words to cut so deeply...alas, they have. So much so that I hate to say I will not be reading anymore...as much as I love to hear the goings on at the Casa. As I sit here with tears in my eyes (I know, stupid, right?) I have to say I hope...and I know...you will do well as always.
Please don't post this...I don't feel like being beat up again. Maybe someday I'll have your strength...
I'm glad you've decided not to make your blog private - I've enjoyed reading your opinions even though they are often different than my own. (I don't think anyone would grow if they only read/studied things they agreed with).
Thanks for providing a WORTHWHILE blog to read!
In 1976 when I was a just a kid I helped the Ron Paul campaign by putting his flyers on doors in the neighborhood. Yet another reason why we have bonded!
Keep up the great work! I look forward to the book and eventual movie!

i love your blog -- its hilarious! I love your views, love your life and your family --- sound stalker? hope not!
Please do not stop

You…have you ever actually read KK’s blog? Have you read the part about her love and addiction to Hermes? Do you know how much one of these little pieces of fabulousness costs? In some cases, you’d have to sell the Rover and take the bus…so you could carry your Hermes bag.
Ever read the various posts about what the rising oil prices mean to her, well…let’s say her Hermes war chest. Not to mention that just about everything she does is top notch and never cheap…and she’s right out there with it.
The poster you're bashing is only agreeing with and supporting KK...
So essentially, you are also calling KK unbelievably shallow, vain and arrogant.
Oh no you didn’t!!!!
(Frankly, I am surprised she passed on you hateful dribble and posted it)
i saw that unfortunate website devoted to KK from the Democrats - SHAME ON YOU for all the ones (from the Democratic party) that wrote those horrible things about this fine person. I have known her a very long time
it would not matter if she were worth a Billion dollars or $5 - she would give you the shirt of her back
Comparing her to Willie Horton is the reason the party (which I used to be a part of) cannot unite.

I have not seen the web site, KK, but i'd like to...and here's the deal...as ugly as it may be, if someone has devoted an entire site to you (good or bad)...you're doing something(s) right!
Better to be on the front lines than shivering in the corner whispering to yourself! If you can make a difference even to one person, never stop! You're brave and you KEEP IT UP!...make 'em sweat!
And post the link to that site...lemme at 'em!!
If you can affect change with this stream of consciousness..then keep on tickling the keys! You’ve gott’em on the run!
I have seen the website that reader was referring too -- it makes me ashamed to be a Democrat
Keep on doing what you are doing! If you are making people think then you are good
I was rooting for Miss USA! She was gorgeous and her presence just glows. She's going places.

I have enjoyed reading your blog so much ... I stayed up late to read back ... such an interesting blog and your writing style is great! I'm sorry you've had probs with readers being aggressive or scary ... just shouldn't happen.
I know you say you're not going to go private but just incase:

if you decide to!
All the best to you and your family.

Hi…
Please include me on your list! LOVE YOUR BLOG
Thanks,
Heather
Hi Kristi,
This email is in response to your July 15 post indicating that you'll be taking your blog private. I would definitely like to continue reading along if possible. My own blog is at http://www.xanga.com/Magnoliamama where you can check out "who" I am in a way. You can only view the public entries if you have a xanga account, and only those on my protected list get to see the rest of the dirt (or, at least more personally-identifying information!)
I don't know the reasons for your decision. Is everything OK? I always worry a bit when I see a fellow mama blogger take her entire site private. I have vacillated since starting my own blog in 2004 with private/public entries and what to post. Now, I do a mix of public and private that seems to work. If there's anything I can share about my own experiences, please let me know.
Best regards to you and yours,
Becky Slomski
Hello. I would love to continue reading your blog. Theresa Ann, my cousin, started my addiction to reading your adventures!
