To sum up my day, I feel like a four year old on Christmas morning....or make that a 12 year old girl that has just been told Hanna Montana is coming for a sleepover tonight and bringing Sprinkles cupcakes.....so very excited!!
I have been a longtime (15 plus year) fan of AJ Croce.....he is such an incredibly talented musician. He comes by the genes naturally, considering his Father was the legendary multi--platinum artist, Jim Croce (Bad, Bad Leroy Brown and Time in a Bottle)
A very dear friend of mine, Larry owns a tour management company for renowned musicians (Eric Clapton, JLo and Rod Stewart to name a few of his clients), well, sweet Larry was kind enough to handle A.J. personally for me and arranging for his performance at Daniel and Veronica's reception. There is not a lot that makes me "giddy" but .....A.J.'s "raspy vocals" makes me silly with "school girl" excitement!
I would say experiencing A.J. is compared to sitting in a jam session (in Tipatina's Uptown-New Orleans) with Ray Charles with a hint of his Dad, Jim, along with Frank Sinatra, "young" Elvis, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Dr. John with a little Jimmy Buffett sprinkled in! His range is amazing.
The international music scene, like a menu of infinite pancake choices, can overwhelm you with its endless, dubious promises of fulfillment. Seedling Records recording artist A.J. Croce knows how you feel. He doesn't want you to fill up on empty carbs or predictable music. A.J.--considered "one of our greatest young songwriters of the Century" by David Wild of Rolling Stone--wants your ears satisfied, like they just ate the best pancakes ears ever ate, and with his tasty singing, songwriting, and musicianship, A.J. delivers.
A. J. has performed with Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Santana, Willie Nelson, Dave Mathews, Ben Harper, Lyle Lovett, Rod Stewart, Morphine, B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins, Honeyboy Edwards, John Fahey, Gangstarr, John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Lenny Kravitz, Bruce Hornsby, Los Lobos, Toni Braxton, David Garza, Fastball, and Steve Poltz, and his childhood hero Ray Charles.
OK, so NOW can you see WHY I am so excited???
To hear his early works try downloading
"He's Got a Way with Women" and "Texas Ruby" and "That's Me in the Bar" (Early on)
"I Should Have Known" and "Don't Let Me Down" from later releases
OK kids, we have 14 days til A.J. comes to town!!!!
