Doing the Poo-Poo Victory Lap

As most everyone knows, we have been potty training at Casa Chaos. I am happy to report, we have been quite successful. From what I have been told girls are somewhat easier to train than boys. Sinclair has taken to this faster than President Bush took to "English as a first Language!" I am telling you she is so good at taking direction I know I will be adding this on her college resume. "Potty Trained by 17 months" I feel like wearing this notation as a badge of honor everywhere I go this week.

I must admit I did try to bribe our daughter with "big girl panties" -- I know she has no idea what that means but it sure sounds exciting as her face lights up and she mimics "beeeg gurrrrrl pan-teeeeezzzz" as she runs around the house with the breeze bouncing off her bare bottom!

Occasionally, after she sits on the potty she wants Dora (as in "The Explorer"') to sit on the potty too, for a show of faith and that "everybody is doing it" Well, in this house we care about the well-being of Dora quite a bit....so, when (our life size) Dora had an "accident" (pronounced "Axxie-Axxie" at Casa Chaos) all hell hysteria broke loose that Dora got her "honeybuns" wet. The tears were welling and in her little mind I am sure she was confidant Dora would not recover. I assured her these things happen. After I succumbed to the tears, I read to Dora the book Sinclair thought she would like, while Sinclair arranged "tea party" for Dora and all their stuffed entourage. Then everyone has to "shoooosh" (which means no talking) and the classical music comes out on the ipod (which Sinclair works faster than me) while everyone is served "teeeeea"

As a momma, I say I am overwhelmed with the love and pride I feel for my baby, plus that she picked up on the insurgence of "blue blood" mannerisms and has a tea party and classical music obsession .....Dr. Phil would probably insist we were all a little OCD.

I am so proud of my girl!!! All we do at our house is say "Bye Poo Poo" and wave when we flush the toilet.
