Secret Agent Julia Childs.....

I am in awe this morning with the most random story I have heard in a very longtime -- everyone remembers chef Julia Child and her famed cooking shows that ran for years (plus she penned a number of cookbooks)  Quite possibly you found her style a wee bit on the dry side (at least I did when I was a child).  Alas the truth is revealed four years after her death at 91 that she was a spy during WWII.  Is it just me or is she truly the last person you would ever expect to be a spy....which I guess is the point, right?

Perhaps Martha Stewart was never really in jail - maybe her whole scandal was part of a secret espionage ploy!  Mrs. Child's name has just been released with 24,000 other names who at some point did a little spy work on behalf of the United States Government!

I am really curious to what kind of spy work she did.  I have this vision of her teaching James Bond how to make the perfect accoutrement for his martini.

WE HEART CUPCAKES!

Yesterday was our little friend, Hallie's birthday -- she had a fabulous party at the local cupcake shop.  This has been a popular place among the little girl set this summer.
Sinclair LOVES the face painting...

Cupcake eating was much more fun than cupcake decorating.  Our friend Thomson soaked up the scene very seriously.  So precious!

The moment we got home Clifford was the recipient of the "sugar cupcake high"

Chic Despite.....

Boom-Boom our pet chicken came back for his "timeshare" visit again this weekend.  As most of you recall we hatched eggs for Easter and the result was "Boom Boom" and "Peep Peep"

Boom-Boom travels in his own doggie carrier and gets a furlough on the weekends from (our housekeeper) CoCo's little farm.  Sinclair  puts him on a leash and he follows her, the dogs don't bother him and I am convinced he is on his best "Country Club" behavior in hopes he can get a permanent place at Casa Chaos.

I think my fancy neighbors would not feel the love for this bird as much as Sinclair does.  Although, I am confidant the coyotes would love to make their way up our bayou to make friends in the evening.

You think there is a place on Leno or Letterman for a 2 year old that trains her pet chicken to have tea party??

I know Sinclair thinks if she hides him in her playhouse that we will forget he is in there.

I chuckled to myself thinking of our wonderful friend and brilliant interior designer, Mel who passed away from cancer a few months ago.   Mel had quite the following and did estates all over the world, but he was based in Beverly Hills, although he was born in a small town in West Texas.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of Mel and miss him dearly.  He would have teased me relentlessly (and fussed) about wasting all his design skills on choosing fine fabrics and "creating ambiance" so a damn chicken could crap all over Rose Tarlow chairs. I can hear his voice in my head getting "pissy" with me now...telling me (something like) he does not design for "Ellie Mae Clampett"

My best gal Ryland refers to it as "Chic Despite"

LOCKS OF LOVE

This week my precious son-in-law, Lucky and his best friend, Drew surprised me with following up on my suggestion to cut their long locks and donating them to LOCKS OF LOVE

The ponytails had to be a minimum of 10" and needed to be in great condition.  Both guys passed with flying colors.

Drew's locks reminded me of the biblical character Samson
Geneva was here to shape up their new cuts
Hailey was pretty excited that her husband was getting a new look - that he carried off quite dashingly I might add
Lucky let me take the first whack -- brave, brave man!
Lucky's locks will go to help create wigs for children that are stricken with cancer
Lucky got a consolation hug from JoJo afterwards....

About to be new parents deserves a new "look"

NO, SERIOUSLY PEOPLE..... WWJD?

Yesterday was day two of "WILL SUE FOR PREPARATION H" (Central Casting could not make this stuff up). As usual, our friend Rusty did not disappoint or let the witness off easy --- he accused Plaintiff Sharon Brown's co-worker, Ms. Johnson of playing the race card. (Insert audible gasps from the courtroom). This was after the fact that she testified Lakewood co-pastor, Victoria Osteen approached her for assistance only because she was white. Probably not the best placement of her "pawn" in this game of Chess. For those of you that recall the Anna Nicole Smith case, it was similar to their famed courtroom moment crescendo.  As we say in the South, "Rusty was on her like a duck on a junebug" which translates to speed that is Beijing Olympics worthy.

As most of the country knows now, Brown is suing Victoria Osteen for ten percent of her net worth (which screams "gimme, gimme, gimme"), alleging that Victoria slammed her against a bathroom door, shoved her aside while elbowing her in the left breast - this is in turn is the result of her having cramps in her posterior orifice.  Yes, that would be Hemorrhoids. I am still stumped as how a hemorrhoid claim ended up in the lawsuit.

I was not on the flight, obviously, but it just smells of someone looking to cash in on an ego-filled altercation that was unpleasant for all involved.  Especially, if you can attempt to prove you potentially got "bumped" by a minister's wife and it caused hemorrhoids.   If the Ms Brown's team can prove that then we need to put her on the JFK Conspiracy theory.

Brown's psychiatrist, Shayna Lee, testified that Ms. Brown has been depressed and suffered post-traumatic stress disorder because of the incident with Mrs. Osteen.  She also felt "disrespected in her role as a black woman leader and her faith was affected"  Obviously this woman never had much faith to start with.  In fact, her "faith" is thinner than the walls of her posterior orifice.   It was an incident with another human being -- it was not like God came down and pushed you himself.  Stuff happens.  People have bad days and behave inappropriately.

I started thinking last night how many various situations congregations "faith could have been affected" when their leaders have disappointed them.  Let's start out with the all-might world's largest tax shelter, the Catholic Church that for years has been hiding the molestation of children.  Then we have the basic leaders gone bad: Jimmy Swaggert, Jim and Tammy Faye that swindled the PTL out of millions, Ted Haggert that abused drugs with a male prostitute on numerous occasions.  The list is a long one.

My husband called from out of town last night and was not aware of the headline news of the Osteen family.  Initially, I do not think he believed me when I mentioned the flight attendant was suing over hemorrhoids.  He said "the judge will toss it out"  I explained they already placed the jury and he was stunned.  What I do not think is fair is Victoria Osteen and her family have been persecuted for flying first class, vacationing in Vail, writing best-selling books and having a 45,000 person congregation.  In the mind of many they "should pay"  -- they have become a target of their own success.  I am incensed and disappointed listening to others ready to crucify Ms. Osteen because they are building a lovely new home on an expansive lot, that includes a room for spray tanning.  Not sure if that is true, but it adds fuel to the fire.

The Osteen's gladly paid their $3000 fine to the FAA for holding up the flight that day -- move on and let our judicial system focus on the real bad guys.

I can tell you "What Jesus would do"  he would probably say "Get off the cross, Ms Brown -- We need the wood!"

WWJD???

I honestly do not know what to make of the lawsuit involving Victoria Osteen, wife of famed pastor Joel Osteen, a man whom I love to hear preach.  Sharon Brown, Continental flight attendant is accusing her of committing some very unchristian-like behavior.  Mrs Osteen is accused, in a civil lawsuit, of assaulting Ms. Brown before the start of a December 2005 flight from Houston to Vail, CO

Brown alleged Victoria Osteen threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her in the left breast during an outburst over a wet stain on her first-class seat.  Victoria voluntarily paid the $3000 fine by the Federal Aviation Administration for interfering with a crew member to be able to put the incident behind she and her family.

Here is the problem I have with Ms. Brown. It seems as though she wants an apology and punitive damages amounting to 10 percent of the Osteen's net worth as part of her lawsuit. Why the hell doe you need 10 percent of this woman's net worth?? This amounts nothing more to an old-school shake-down to me. I am confidant our judicial system will not allow this woman to get 10 percent of the Osteen's net worth. It is appalling that this lawsuit has honestly gotten this far.

I watched a courtroom clip of both women yesterday and Ms. Brown was grinning from ear to ear and walking into court with such swagger, that it is quite obvious she could never be compared to being a "victim" as she has portrayed herself out to be. It is sad we tie up our legal system with frivolous lawsuits as this. Had this been a poor person, I am confidant there would never have been a civil lawsuit. Bottom line, it is all about the money.

A 12-person jury was seated Wednesday after lawyers spent several hours questioning a pool of 130 people. The question touched religious beliefs, celebrity and public's perception of preachers and televangelists. Many of those in the jury said they had been to Lakewood Church and acknowledged holding the Osteens in high regard and being somewhat star-struck. I have met Joel Osteen socially but have never met his wife or been to their church.

According to an FAA report, which the judge would not allow since it was incomplete, claimed Victoria Osteen pushed past Brown in an attempt to get to the plane's cockpit after two other attendants had not cleaned a liquid on her armrest. Brown's suit claims the attendants asked to have Osteen removed from the flight. Victoria Osteen's lawyer, powerhouse Rusty Hardin, said that his client and her entire family left voluntarily. The incident delayed the flight two hour.

Brown had previously claimed she was attacked in another incident by an airport employee, according to a statement she gave under oath. This seems to be her modus operandi --- filing lawsuits.

This was the kicker for me: According to court documents, Brown claims that she suffers anxiety and hemorrhoids because of the incident involving Victoria Osteen and said her faith has been affected. She is suing Osteen for all her medical expenses and counseling.

Again, this is a classic shake-down of a rich person. This, is a true waste of tax payers dollars. If Victoria Osteen slapped this woman, then pay some money, but certainly not 10 percent of her net worth.

Breaking news: plaintiff Pharaoh has sued Moses--claiming the defendant became belligerent after Pharaoh refused a demand to let people go, and the plaintiff has since been plagued with frogs, rivers of blood, and severe acne.

What would Jesus do??

FAMILY EXPANSION....

Clementine showing off her love of fetching!

Yesterday we acquired the last litter of our beloved Grand Champion Jester-Blanche bloodline of Cavalier King Charles puppies. Blanche, the Momma dog had three little boy pups (two Tri-colored and one Blenheim).  The Tri (on the left, above) is Sinclair's puppy...she named him "Clifford"

The Blenheim (on the right) is finding a home with Daniel and Veronica...Sinclair affectionately named him "Sandwich"  The third, stayed with Rosemary and Jay and will go on the show circuit.  Hopefully, we will be at Westminster this winter rooting him on!
