Even though I primarily used PC up until the new year -- (see New Year's blog re: Paul Allen) I decided to wholeheartedly give my MAC a chance. I find myself really getting attached to the ease of flow more every day.
I have come to the realization MAC is truly a superior product. I suggested it to at least a half a dozen people this week. I love when I turn my MAC on it immediately does just that. Today, we had a major (PC) system meltdown at Casa Chaos. Big Daddy had his IT Dept on the phone, business systems on the line and then he spent an additional two hours inside our A/V closet pulling out wires and switching cables to see if we could get any type of signal.
Our PC's are still not working.
I took a random shot in the dark and turned on my MAC and it booted up immediately (we were both scratching our heads since it is routed through the same wireless system).
As of post time, six hours later the rest of our PC's are still frozen and non-operational .
It is truly no wonder Bill Gates stepped down from the reign of the Kool-Aid Kingdom this week,

I hate Microsoft, and Dell, and Norton, and viruses, and freaking Vista and everything updated and drivers and bullshit.
This is why earlier this year I ditched all 3 pc's, and bought MACs. And it is true: Once you go MAC you never go back.
I run two MACbooks now, and it eliminated all the things you listed above. No issues. I can't even believe how different the world is with a MAC. I'm so much happier. My only question is, what took me so long.
Well, lets not blame it all on PC - the hardware can be salvaged. I just blame Bill, who is Menace to Society #1. The salvation for the average Windows user is Linux.
Today I decided to exchange my work PC for a little faster model. I would rather take a beating than have to move all my software to a new PC, so I squeezed the current machine for about 2 years.
While running the backup software for the 3rd time -- it kept locking up. I moved to the new machine. Popped in my Windows XP Pro disk (No Vista here), and proceeded to install. An hour later, I was ready to install MS Office. Uh... No network. Hmmm.
Killed an hour playing with the drivers.
Re-installed XP - another hour wasted. No network.
Perhaps a hardware problem exists??
Lets see.. How do I verify this?
Pop in a Linux demo disk, 5 minutes later the machine boots and I can both surf the net and see my office network.
Arrrrgh!!!! Bill wins again.
If I did not have to account for my book keeping software that only runs on Windows, I would be a linux shop tomorrow. Or Mac.
My husband has been in the IT business for 20 years and 7 years ago I insisted on him buying me a MAC laptop for my birthday. My gift preference was met with much resistance. Then, after I got it, I found my hubby looking over my shoulder - a lot. Within 8 weeks, we had outfitted our entire house wirelessly with MACS for all 3 of our children, my hubby with the biggest monitor ever, and now, 7 years later, there ain't no frickin' way we would ever go back to a PC anything.

Remember my post to your blog about Windows?
Well, I was so pissed at Bill Gates I decided to install Linux on my work machine. The trouble is, Windows software does not run under Linux.
Ahhhh. There is a solution.
Run Windows inside of a Virtual Box. Or, in English, run it as an application. Then load the necessary software. Klunky, but it works so far. And, I only had to install it once!
