First Trip to the Dentist

Since we are a month shy of the second birthday, this morning was Sinclair's first trip to the Dentist. We really did not know what to expect or how she would react since she is not that fond of going to the Pediatrician. She was a little uneasy at first but we got settled in the waiting room with lots of other children and mounds of books and puzzles - she was content.

She saw her little friend Georgia who was such a trooper! Georgia was in the chair next to us. I think Sinclair put on her "game face" to show she was not scared at all!

After spending time here I almost wished I was a child again. This place had more fun things to do and the staff was so patient. It was truly impressive. Miss Amanda, our hygienist let her choose which flavor she wanted her to clean her teeth with. She loves anything orange, so naturally this was the flavor she picked. She was totally blindsided at first but Miss Amanda let her feel the brush swivel and "tickle her teeth" and she helped her count her teeth which was a whopping 16!!!! She is cutting another this week.

They let her choose a toy for being so good and again she went with an orange fish. She wanted to make sure Miss Amanda saw how strong her teeth were so she bit into it immediately.

Now it was time to see Dr Cammarata. She inspected all of her teeth.....Sinclair helped her count them again in the mirror. Dr C was extremely impressed she was yet two and could rattle off to 16 with ease.

They offer the children these cool sunglasses so the lights do not blind their eyes. Sinclair informed Dr C she was a "moobie star" and then announced "all done, go home"

On the way out the patient coordinator gets their photo on the elephant for their record books!! She LOVED this part!

All in all, it was a great trip and first experience at the Dentist. Hopefully, in six months we will get another gold star report card!
