Today we were all winding down around Casa Chaos from a really exciting Friday. Not only did our friend, Crystle win Miss USA but I personally was exhausted from chairing the Contemporary Arts Museum Gala. "Big Daddy", Sinclair and I all took double long naps today while watching the Masters.
One of my best friends, Ryland also served as my co-chair last night. We were so very pleased with the turn out of about 350 of our friends that came in black tie to support us. Then again, maybe it was the famed sculptor John Chamberlain, who we honored was the reason why people turned out in success. Chamberlain was a flew in from New York to receive his kudos from the CAM. This artist is 82 years old and has one of the wittiest personalities I have ever encountered. I teased him some of his work look like my toddler created it -- he took it better than I probably would have. Considering he easily gets six figures for his works, I guess he is laughing all the way to the bank.

Winding down at the end of the fairytale night......
I have received dozens of emails today from friends and well-wishers telling describing the best Gala they had ever attended. The wildly popular band, The Spazmatics came in from Austin and played until almost 1 AM!
Tonight, Hailey came over and we wound down with an easy evening of grilled snapper and veggies. Sinclair donned her BoPeep hat and fairy wings for dinner. Auntie Paula and Uncle Sam surprised us with some cupcakes from our favorite yummy bakery, Sugarbaby's. I think Sinclair had more fun smearing the icing than actually eating it.

Kristi,
Thanks so much for passing on this good news; I am so glad your friends had such a good time. I also know that John Chamberlain and his gang were really pleased, and felt duly honored!
And who knows anything about that guerrilla speaker?!?! Wasn't that nuts??
It was a great party; thank you for all you and Ryland did to make it such a success!

Kristi,
Melissa and I congratulate you and Ryland for chairing such a fabulous party last night – one of the best we have attended! The band was awesome – I danced until the last song and literally danced out of the Corinthian – for me to actually step foot on the dance floor is a tremendous move for me. All in all, it was a beautiful evening and we very much enjoyed ourselves. We regret that we were not able to visit with you; we gathered you must have departed early. We hope all is ok. Take care, and again, hats off to you and Ryland for hosting such a fun party.
Best,
Michael

You look STUNNING. I know that wasn't your first rodeo, but I'm still very proud of you!!!! That wasn't easy to step in at the last minute and make it look as if you had worked on this gala for a year, but you did. Everyone had a fantastic time!!!
XOXO

Ditto on the positive remarks. It was great and very obvious that MY table had a blast.
Seriously, thank you both so much for all your time and effort for the benefit of CAM. See you soon.

ONLY in the south.
You look like a princess.I don't think I have ever seen anyone so exquisitely beautiful in my entire long-legged life.
So beautiful in fact, that were you to visit a bar I go to here in Kansas called The Nugget, I'm pretty sure someone would kick your ass.
That's how we compliment gorgeous women in our small town. We get drunk and beat them up.
OMG! I am playing catch up and just saw your pic from the gala. You are absolutely stunning, Kristi. It's scary how perfect you look. Thank God you're a Texas socialite because I'm thinking as unbelievably perfect as you are, you would routinely get beat up in bars in Kansas.
I hate you. And I mean that in the most Christian way.
;-)
