A Slice of Heaven....

Californians may not have the greatest of reputations.  Every time I visit I notice how rushed people seem to be, on the go and simply too busy to enjoy the simple pleasures that surround them.

Orange County, or specifically Laguna Nigel is one of the most gorgeous places on earth.  This time of the year, on a curvy stretch of Pacific Coast Highway just North of San Diego the "rush" subsides.  In a relatively desolate area where the street parking is abundant and a valet sits with nothing to do for long moments, the afternoons at the Montage Resort invite people from all walks of life to enjoy nature's gift every 24 hours:  the incredible sunsets

Like clockwork, the Aston Martins and Ferraris pull into the valet.  The street becomes lined in rows of cars.

Why all the fuss?  This is not a typical sunset as can be seen and appreciated virtually anywhere in the world.  It is the hotel setting that makes it extraordinary.  This is pure California -- as California as California gets!  I could take 1000 photos and yet still never do it any justice what God instilled here.  One must see it for themselves.

The Lobby Lounge has walls of floor-to-ceiling glass and the entire space converts into a splash of crisp orange as the sun begins its descent.  The lucky few on the balconies that have claimed their spots long before get the best view, but with plush seating, elegant piano music, a cozy fireplace.  Keep in mind, there is not a bad spot on this property.

Furthermore, when the sun is completely asleep, just like clockwork the valet clears out, people head for their cars on the street, and the Montage returns to its normal self.  Is the sunset really THAT good?  Definitely!  I am confidant there could be equally as nice of places to take in an incredible sight - but I have experienced none other.

SoCal.....LOVE IT!!!

Today we headed West back to my surgeon in Newport Beach, CA.  Dr D is going to see how I am progressing and if the rib graft is taking to the new location.

This time I brought a whole support staff of people to hold my hand!  Naturally, my Mom, JoJo came (since she has to handle the PICC line) and one of my best girlfriends Ryland came as "head cheerleader".  Her little boy, Jack Allen (we call "JAMP") is ten days older than Sinclair and they are the best of friends.

They loved landing at the FBO and getting to see so many planes up close on the tarmac.

At Leigh's (our other BFF) suggestion we are staying at the Montage in Laguna Beach this trip. This is truly what heaven on earth is.  We hear the Pacific waves crashing against the rocks.

I first discovered Laguna in about 1991.  My friends showed me an "investment" they made on a stretch of Laguna Beach that was essentially a trailer park.  I recall thinking they had to be insane to have paid a half a million dollars for a patch of sand large enough to hold a trailer.

Flash forward almost a decade and some developers bought out the original investors for a substantial amount.  They developed the Montage Hotel which opened about five years ago.  The same size patch of land (approximately 10,000 square feet of sand) just sold recently (without a home on it) for $13 MILLION!!!!

Crazy California prices!!!  It is mind blowing!!!

We just came to enjoy the view!!   The ideal weather is free!!!

First Trip to the Dentist

Since we are a month shy of the second birthday, this morning was Sinclair's first trip to the Dentist. We really did not know what to expect or how she would react since she is not that fond of going to the Pediatrician. She was a little uneasy at first but we got settled in the waiting room with lots of other children and mounds of books and puzzles - she was content.

She saw her little friend Georgia who was such a trooper! Georgia was in the chair next to us. I think Sinclair put on her "game face" to show she was not scared at all!

After spending time here I almost wished I was a child again. This place had more fun things to do and the staff was so patient. It was truly impressive. Miss Amanda, our hygienist let her choose which flavor she wanted her to clean her teeth with. She loves anything orange, so naturally this was the flavor she picked. She was totally blindsided at first but Miss Amanda let her feel the brush swivel and "tickle her teeth" and she helped her count her teeth which was a whopping 16!!!! She is cutting another this week.

They let her choose a toy for being so good and again she went with an orange fish. She wanted to make sure Miss Amanda saw how strong her teeth were so she bit into it immediately.

Now it was time to see Dr Cammarata. She inspected all of her teeth.....Sinclair helped her count them again in the mirror. Dr C was extremely impressed she was yet two and could rattle off to 16 with ease.

They offer the children these cool sunglasses so the lights do not blind their eyes. Sinclair informed Dr C she was a "moobie star" and then announced "all done, go home"

On the way out the patient coordinator gets their photo on the elephant for their record books!! She LOVED this part!

All in all, it was a great trip and first experience at the Dentist. Hopefully, in six months we will get another gold star report card!

A ROAST TO KRISTI.......FROM SHER

If you lived down the street from me and you were feeling this puny, I would show up at your front door with trashy celeb magazines - the ones nobody buys because they are too embarrassed and a pot roast in hand.

Since you are sickly and all the way down in Texas, I cannot bring you a pot roast, so I decided to give you another kind of roast. I sincerely hope you feel better soon and know that I am sending good vibes and well wishes.

Top Ten Reasons I Want to be KK in My Next Life!

1. Kristi frequently attends or chairs Galas. Until I saw pictures of Kristi in a shiny dress at one, I only thought "Gala" was something you added to your laundry to get it fresh and clean. "It's not clean unless it's Gala clean"

2. Kristi is a "saver" - KK saves people, places and things. One week it is the museum of ugly things that some guy made in his basement out of copper tubing and bendy straws and this is declared "art". Her next mission is hairless blue butterflies of Zimbabwe. The only things I have ever saved are bread ties and wedding rings from ex-husbands. You never know when you are gonna need one or the other.

3. Kristi is very "blingy" I tell my son he "nickel and dimes me to death" I have a feeling John says Kristi "nickel and diamonds him to death"

4. Kristi oozes money. I will have to admit I have not done the necessary research and investigation to property or IRS background checks to properly substantiate this fact, but I am willing to bet a Ziploc full of bread ties she does.

5. Kristi is a jet-setter! She flies here, there and everywhere for reasons unknown. One minute she is hobnobbing on a bowl of "rich people chow" and the next she is in Africa saving children from some obscure unpronounceable something. The only place I ever go is a bar called The Golden Nugget (and everyone knows why)

6. KK drives a golden carriage. OK, so that is an exaggeration . Kristi does not drive a golden carriage. Yet, I am confident she has a footman and a driver than handle the actual golden carriage operation. She rides in the back with her stillettos up so her glass Jimmy Choo's do not get dirty. I suppose I could ride in the back seat of my car, but it is almost impossible to find a decent footman in Kansas. Even more so when you drive an ugly red Ford Focus.

7. Kristi COMMANDS attention. When Kristi speaks, people listen. Important people, too. Kristi writes a letter complaining the toilet paper in First Class is too stiff and the next thing you know, Nigerian children in sweat shops are hired to hand knit TP out of imported silk. Nobody listens to me. In 1986 I told my first husband I was in labor and he had to ask me what I said.....at my daughter's sixth birthday party.

8. Kristi is GORGEOUS. Kristi is not "pretty" nor is she "cute". Kristi is STUNNING. She looks like the kind of glamorous beauty Frank Sinatra would have called his "great dame". I, on the other hand, look like someone Frank Sinatra would have called to clean his house.

9. Kristi is very nice. It would be OK if Kristi were beautiful, but also mean and nasty and a crappy tipper. Sadly, she is "send you in a diabetic coma sweet" So sweet in fact, I am told people in the same room with her often spontaneously develop toothaches. I spit on the universal rule that dictates one must either be lovely to love at or lovely in spirit. (Spitting is an admittedly an unattractive habit and something I am confident Kristi has never done)

10. Furthermore, Kristi is Occasionally Funny. This one hurts the most because it is not OK with me that someone who looks like Kristi, acts like Kristi and has the perfect life (minus the PICC line) has to also be laugh out loud funny. Funny is suppose to come from angst and personal misery and the price of gas forcing you to feed your family "Hot Dog and Cheese Whiz Casserole Surprise" (The surprise is you bought a gallon of gas and cannot afford the hot dog)

Almost no one wants to hear the one about "the butler, gardener and oil tycoon walk into a bar....." and yet I am quite sure Kristi would make it rib breaking funny. And Pretty. Kristi would make it hilarious and glamorous. Damn Kristi!
Get Well Soon!

Love, Sher

The funniest gal to ever come out of the mid-West!

Sunday at Casa Chaos.....

Today was like any other Sunday at Casa Chaos we start to wind down in the evening to save our energy to start over again on Mondays.

Last night, after I had my treatment we got dressed and went to our neighbors for a wedding. Getting dressed took an hour longer just trying to find something long enough to cover my lines and not to burn up in winter clothes.

We finally got to the Mosbacher's and Mica had transformed (with the help of Richard and Kirksey - because you KNOW it is not a real smash unless the "Flower Fairies" have a hand in it) "Reflections" their beautiful historic mid-century into a South Hampton retreat. Everyplace outside the main residence was tented and pumped with tons upon tons of Air-Conditioning. The bride, Brittanie was gorgeous and the groom, Cameron was walking on air! After we paid our best wishes we moved on to the Country Club for a dinner in honor of our friends Mike and Joann - they celebrated 50 blissful years!

We started talking about what that means in real life. Folks are so quick to divorce these days, considering the divorce rate is higher than ever. There are very few people most know that have been married 50 years. Mike and Joann, my in-laws, my Godparents were married close to 75 years.....Hollywood is destroying the curve to which marriages are graded.

Later this afternoon when it was time for another treatment, my wonderful nurse, Brunetta had a little helper in Sinclair. It takes about an hour to flush all the lines and wait for the Cubicin to run its course. Sinclair ran to the bathroom and came back with a Dora band-aid and said "for Mommy Boo-Boo"

I went to church earlier today. As I sat there listening to the sermon I realized what I had to be grateful for. Today it was my beautiful family, my sweet little angel and her Dora the Explorer Band-Aids with loving hugs and kisses!

Zoey's Mommy Rocks!

Shanna, one of my dearest and oldest childhood friends started her new blog this weekend.  I know she will find it therapeutic and cathartic.

Please drop by and send Shanna some loving words of encouragement -- she is one of God's special angels!

KK Update....

This morning my Mom, "JoJo" and I went down to Methodist Hospital and waited in the radiology/Endovascular Department for them to call me in to administer my PICC line. Naturally, it is the days you really do not want to see the Doctor that you are the first one called. Unfortunately, they were on time.

A specialist took me to a surgical area where they prepped me and sterilized my arm. I was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. He measured my arm from a little above the wrist to my heart and I heard him call to the nurse “41” and she said “Roger, 41” (which is the inches of the tube they are feeding through my artery to my heart) They numbed the area in quite a few places and inserted the IV and then proceeded to feed this long tube up towards my heart. At time I felt stinging and pressure but nothing unbearable. I did get a little nervous when my specialist asked me "Do you hear ocean like waves?" I assured him I did not and wondered if that was normal. He said "if you do, that is the fluid flushing your lines and the PICC is next to your brain and not your heart" I was a little “white” and nearly passed out on that note and a few times after that but lived to tell about it which is all you can ever ask.

One of my best friends Jenna came and sat with my Mom for support. Afterwards, they wheeled me to my Infectious Disease guru, Dr Samo’s office. Here, the three of us received a crash course in “PICC 101” What you can and cannot do over the next few months. They teach you to lead as normal of a life as you can.

My Mom assures me now she knows how to give me my treatment. John travels a lot but I am sure she will give him the "Cliff Notes" when he returns from overseas. The code name is SASH: Saline, Antibiotic, Saline to flush my line again and then Heprin to thin my blood. (I have been asked by a few readers if I have actual Heprin and yes that is what Dr Samo prescribed me)

My arm is pretty sore and tender to the touch but I have a feeling this will pass in a few days. The heating pads help tremendously. The nurse stressed that the main obstacle is not getting it wet so infection does not penetrate the opening. You must shower with multiple layers of plastic covering and they will not allow pools, rivers, beaches, lakes -- especially no standing water.

Generally, this is going much smoother than anticipated -- then again, I have not had to shower yet! I am so sore from this going in that my Mom will have to blow dry my hair for the first few times, as my arm is very very sore and I cannot lift it. My sweet Mom offered to blow dry my hair this morning in case I had any "visitors" but I had visions of me with a "Mamie Eisenhower" hairdo -- so I decided I would look the part: as bad as a I feel.

Thank you for the many, many emails, blog posts (which I love) flowers, drive-by's, notes, calls and yummy food. The wonderful Frank Stowell from Texas Children's, I cannot imagine going through this without him. My sweet love, Gary Mercer sent my favorite Chicken Pot Pie, which is half gone! My Fort Worth cheering squad, Bryan King and Tracy Smith sent me fabulous chocolates covered fruits. My girlfriend and new Mommy, Sarah, Kenn and baby Jack (I am Jack's proud fairy Godmother) --- it really all means the world to me!

Of course my sweet angel, Hailey along with neighbors, "Momma" Mary Cullen and Paula "Tia" Douglass have been my "rocks" ......the list goes on and on! I want to especially thank Michael Phillips - without his fast thinking I probably would not even be here - or without a face anyway. His speedy actions getting me to the ER and to Dr Galvan ( my original treating physician) essentially saved me. My I.D. specialists assured me they would have been taking me straight to the operation room without their aggressive actions!

I am keeping a positive attitude and praying a lot! This is 90% of the battle!

Thank you all!

Oh to be PICC'd!!!

I met with my new infectious disease guru today, Dr Tobias Samo. He has opted to put in a PICC line and I will be administered IV antibiotics 2 X a day for the next several months. What a party this will be!

If they don't attack this aggressively they do not feel confident they still do not have to go in and remove all the work that was just done. He explained that since blood flow is so jeopardized to the area its so hard for the medicine to it.

Since bone essentially doesn't have blood flow - my rib graft should take a little longer to adhere to me.

I'm a little down but know this is for the best and am thrilled I don't have to go back into surgery. This little accessory should make for a long, hot summer!

KK's Baby List

I have friends call me constantly that are having babies and want to know about what products I liked.  This is information I gathered over time from girlfriends in no specific order.  I hope this helps.

1) Do not forget to keep the paper the day the baby is born for their baby book (laminate it later)  My husband now has someone send us a UK paper on her birthday.  We keep these all for her in an acid safe box.

2) If your bedroom is far from baby and baby won’t be sleeping in your room, you may want a bassinet with wheels. Please remember you may have the opposite sex baby next time around so you may want green, white or yellow bedding for the bassinet (2 sheets for bassinet)

3) 1 sleep positioner for infants head- don’t always face baby the same way in bed because their head formation is so soft (The one I used is called Sleep Right)

4) 6 Carter’s starters waterproof quilted lap pads (use for changing table, changing on the go, bassinet, crib- everywhere)

5) 1 changing table or space on counter for changing pad- put mirror or art above it so baby can be distracted (my table has a mosaic wall) the older they get the LESS they like being changed- make sure nothing can fall on baby when changing (if your room is far from baby’s, you may want to set up a small changing station (with pad and diapers) in your bathroom for baby or downstairs in your house)

6) 1 Half moon shaped diaper changing pads/pillow – Boppy. Honestly, I heard so many fabulous things about the Boppy, but I cannot say I was a huge fan.

7) “Especially for Baby” wipes warmer- I have girlfriends that love it and still use it. Some say that there is no reason you need to warm babies wipes and they will only get used to being spoiled. I found the wipes dried out faster.

8) Covers for diaper changing pad/pillow

9) Make sure nothing above baby’s crib can fall and harm baby. Also make sure all blinds are secure and there is no loose cords.

10) Crib bed skirt- REMEMBER that as baby grows, your crib mattress lowers.

11) Crib Mattress- I think mine is by Simmons

12) Symphony in Motion Mobile- Our baby LOVES the BRIGHT colors and black and white- you will only use this for a few months – when baby can almost reach it, its times to go!!! It will be replaced by something more secure.

13) After we graduated from the mobile we got the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium- my little one loves it now when she wakes up at night she can turn it on. LOVES IT!!

14) A few Nightlights around baby’s room/ changing area- so you don’t have to turn on the room light and REALLY wake her up when you have to change baby – I use the motion sensor ones in various places

15) Fisher Price Soothing Motion Glider GREAT for Travel and equally GREAT for home. This was by far one of my favorite products.  I think Sinclair spent more time in this sleeping than anywhere else.

16) Kick and Play Bouncer by Fisher Price- YOU WILL LOVE THIS AND SO WILL THEY!!!

17) Some of my friends preferred the Megasaucer activity center by Evenflo – my daughter did not go for it – she was totally a Jumperoo Princess – but some babies only prefer this

18) Infant car seat with base- YOU DO NOT NEED ADDITIONAL BASES FOR other cars. The car seat works easily without the base too

19) SNAP ‘N’GO –or- Universal Car Seat carrier –or Bugaboo base- ---this the small LIGHT contraption that your car seat snaps easily into. DON'T GET A BIG STROLLER SYSTEM THAT WILL BE SUPER HEAVY!!!!!

20) Stroller-- that you will use when the baby grows out of the infant car seat- I LOVE my Stokke stroller system.  Once you practice assembling it does become easier.  I also have a Bugaboo (that someone sent me) I am personally NOT a Bugaboo fan - if you are then go for it.

21) Jogging Stroller- mine is an Eddie Bauer and it is good to own if you will walk baby long periods of time especially on gravel paths.  Other brands are good too and may be better.  I honestly do not hardly ever use this.

22) Don’t buy in advance but if you need one once baby is born- try a Warm Mist Vaporizer by Evenflo

23) Thermometer- the one in the ear - medical grade works well

24) There is an electronic device called NasalClear that suctions the nose out really fast.  Babies in general hate those blue nasal bulbs.  I love this device since you can get in and do what you need to fast!   I even bought one for my pediatrician since he did not know about it.  I found mine on Amazon.

25)   10 Receiving blankets- The VERY lightweight blankets that you get at the hospital. These blankets work WONDERS when you are “swaddling” or “burritoing” the baby. They seem cheap but they are the BEST for what you are doing. Usually you will need 2 for a good swaddle.

26) That reminds me. Take everything that the hospital gives you (look in the drawers of your hospital bassinet). You will use all of that stuff including blankets, hats, etc.  In fact, they will send you home with small 2 oz. bottles of formula -- these are fabulous!!

27) Baby’s Crib- When baby moves into crib OR if you use the crib from the beginning which TONS of people do, you will need 3 crib sheets. Crib sheets are VERY hard to change because of bumper pads etc. It is hard to get the mattress out. Here are some suggestions to make it easier: ***put 2-3 crib sheets on at a time so when the top one gets dirty you can just yank it off *** use the carters pads or any other crib pads on portion of crib that baby sleeps . They are easy to wash.

28) A:  Bathtub- When baby is just born you cannot submerge baby because of umbilical cord. Use those $2.99 yellow teddy bear sponges or a pile of towels to lay baby on while cleaning.

B:   When baby loses umbilical cord try to find a tub that is more like a slanted stand (HARD to find) for baby. I had a square sink installed in my nursery not even thinking (best thing I ever did) since the baby bathtubs are square and it fits in perfectly

C:  I have been using the Eurobath for a while now and she LOVES the bath. I had to buy her TONS of bath toys because she could stay there all day!!!  (I use Johnson’s bath products)

29)  BOTTLES- only buy a few at first because baby may not like the ones you buy. Sinclair did not care and we used Avent at first (the nipples change spout sizes as they get older- start with newborn or 1 and graduate to size 4)-I have been flip flopping between Avent and Dr Browns – I have a slight leaking issue with Avent but its simplest to use. I have seem all kinds of funky bottles at friends house- you will decide on your own what baby likes.

31)  My girlfriend Courtney gave me “Neckwings” to adjust neck in the HUGE car seat for when baby FIRST goes in the car home. This will be traumatic for baby and mommy- Don’t worry if you cry- it is SCARY and JOYOUS bringing baby home for the first time.

32) 25-35 burp cloths/ cloth diapers- You will go through a lot of these each day.

33) Regular blankets- you will only need 4-6 of these for car, stroller, playing on the floor, you are NOT supposed to put blankets in the crib until they are older.

34) long sleeved onesies and day gowns with elastic at bottom( you will need about 10 when they are first born)- easy access to the diaper is best!!- I like SpaSilk (hard to find this brand - the more you wash it the better it feels) Petit Bateau and Ralph Lauren for both

35)  Baby hats – you probably only need the cotton ones from the hospital plus 2 bigger ones- they are good to keep baby warm in a cold house and/or after bath time!

36) 6 pairs socks and/or soft booties to keep baby’s feet warm! You may want to wash them in a linen bag because they get lost! Try Trumpette socks – this brand actually stays on!

37) Glider chair for mommy- You will LOVE it! They are the two MOST comfy chairs in our home – tell hell with the Rose Tarlow – comfort overrides style when you become a parent

38) CD player for baby with soothing music!! I loaded a baby IPod just with her songs – it’s a great addition to the nursery

39) Baby monitor- You pick! I have never heard anyone raving about their baby monitor. Mine is various cameras on the TV built into the ceiling of her room. I can also go to Europe and watch my baby on the Internet – but some folks don’t want to invest that kind of money. I can never move her bed! My girlfriend in New York likes the one that she can talk back to baby through the monitor. She can also talk to a stranger that lives 2 blocks over- watch out!!

40) Plan for and order baby announcements in advance if you have time. You can call later with name, weight and date. Address envelopes and stamp before baby comes too!

41) Baby book for baby memories - save every little thing along the way.

42) If I could do it over, I would keep a weekly diary of baby goings on- what is she doing this week.  It will help for baby #2.  I found the "What to Expect" series is the Bible of information.

43) Dr. Smiths Diaper Ointment for rash or for bad rash AQUAPHOR- works like a charm – I also really liked Boudreaux’s Butt Paste

44) Antibacterial soap and gel at every sink in house

45) Mylicon drops for when baby has gas. You cannot hurt baby with this stuff . It is made of soap.

46) Portable baby wipes and antibacterial gel for diaper bag

47) Box of Ziploc bags for diapers so that you don’t leave nasty dirty diapers at friends house. When you go to the doctor’s office, you have to take dirty diapers home with you. It is illegal to throw away dirty diapers at the pediatrician’s office.

48) Infant Motrin and Infant Tylenol.  Sometimes the Pediatrician will want you to rotate.

49) My girlfriend Lauri reminded me not to forget the  Nursing Bras and Johnson & Johnson Nipple pads- YOU NEED THESE IN THE HOSPITAL because when your milk comes in you want to already have the cotton pads in your bra so that the milk does not cover you!

50) Button Down nightgown for hospital

51) Keep a notebook close by for jotting your thoughts....I found that my brain went to mush initially and this helped when I had so many things to remind myself to ask my pediatrician.

52) Moses basket -- this was great little snuggle place for her to sleep when I was on the go

53) Feeding/bathroom chart for the first few days or weeks- to remember when baby ate last, on what side, for how long and if baby’s BM’s are going OK

54) Someone gave me an ICrib – I just found that an Ipod  loaded sweet nursery rhymes works great.  Now we load her Ipod with different playlists and videos and she takes it with her everywhere

55) Diaper Champ- Some prefers this to the Diaper Genie (we have both) because it uses any bags and it is a cinch to change

56) Baby wipes- TONS, Baby Wash Cloths (4), hooded towels (3)

57) Crib Wedge for when baby gets a cold and the doc tells you to elevate the head, it goes under the mattress

58) Bottle drying rack and also the Avent bottle sanitizer for first few months- sanitize then every 2nd or 3rd use

59) Pacifiers- you decide- I like First Years and NUK – You may need up to 10 in different sizes

60) Dreft detergent for first few months

61) Baby Bjorn or Snugli both the same- good for a couple of months.  Sinclair would immediately go to sleep when I tucked her in this and we walked around the house.  I remember my girlfriend, Ryland called and she strapped hers on in the shower....from that moment on she was my hero!

62) Baby clothes hangers

63) Diapers- EVERYONE I KNOW USES PAMPERS SWADDLERS- The first size even has a cut out for newborn umbilical cord- otherwise you need to fold down diapers where umbilical cord is. They are THE BEST!!! I even brought some to the hospital because I did not like the ones they had.  Their Preemie size was perfect when she was first born.

64) Baby Einstein’s DVD’s

65) Sleep Sacks to zip baby into while sleeping- LOVE THEM!

66) Ipecac syrup from Pharmacy- Let’s hope we never need it. It makes baby throw up if they swallow something awful!!

67) Car Seat- baby enters the car seat after a few months when they hit 20lbs Britax are supposedly the safest!!  I realize as I type this we just graduated to a Toddler car seat.  Which means, they grow up really fast enjoy every second!!!

Thanks to all my girlfriends that sent all their favorite tidbits!!!

Love Lazy Sundays.....

Found this today on Laurie Kendrick's blog. I love doing these while the baby is napping. Give me some of your answers back!

1. If you could have God-like power for one afternoon–be invisible, fly, part the Gulf of Mexico, what would you do?

I would eradicate suffering. I would take away all illnesses and instantly heal every single person. Same with hunger, agony, sadness, angst, anything like that! Be Gone!

2. What was the last thing you sincerely regret buying or paying for?

This week, I ordered one chandelier shade to see if it would work on our fixture. Then I figured I would order the others if it did. Now the packaging is thrown away and I cannot recall where I ordered it. Although the one shade looks spectacular. Last night I regretted that we had a doggie door when a raccoon made its way into our kitchen. He escaped without much damage but I am not sure if the puppies hearts will recover.

3. If you could reanimate a person; bring one person back from the dead, who would it be and why?

Now this one is EASY - it would definitely be my precious Father. We all miss him and he would be beside himself to see Sinclair. Makes me weepy just thinking about him.

4. What two things do you regret not doing or not learning to do?

I wish I had studied Spanish abroad and taken the position running marketing for Broadcast.com when Mark Cuban had offered me the position before they went public.

5. What three adjectives might other people use to describe your personality?

Loyal, Honest and Caring - or at least I HOPE that is what people say......

6. If you were to be remembered for something, what would you like it to be?

A great wife, a loving dedicated Mother and someone who made a difference in someone else's life.

7. What will you take from today?

Watching Sinclair crack eggs while we made cupcakes. One or two eggs were "demolished" more than they were "cracked" Afterwards, she took such satisfaction in savoring them (in her playhouse) once they were all finished.
