IT'S A UTERUS NOT A CLOWN CAR!!!

I don't quite know what to make of this.

Initially I'm like...is it anyone's business if she has 14 children?

Then I'm wondering...if she already has 6...why would she want more if she's a single mother? But again...is it anyone's business?

I guess the fact that she's a single mother of 6 already makes one question her choice of taking the fertility drugs right?  I  have serious doubts about the ethics of a Doctor that would implant eight embryos to begin with.

Should people be up in arms thinking about her receiving welfare for these children? Should the factor that the welfare she would receive not be enough to cover the basics be taken into consideration?

Should someone even GET welfare for a child they had by taking infertility drugs?????????

THIS ONE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I love the title you chose for this post.

I live in So Cal so this is all over the news here.

I think the woman needs to be put into a mental insitution and I hope she is remaining anonymous in hopes of adopting out these kids. She can't provide for them as evidenced byher parents caring for the six she already has while crammed into a two-bedroom house.

My final thoughts are: Good Grief!

So funny, I just finished watching a nightline story about this. Personally, I believe it is a bit ridiculous that she would have eight more, or that a doctor would implant that many embryos. She already has six kids, lives with her parents, her mom declared bankruptcy last year and she is divorced. Initially I wanna say that she is crazy, but I feel something odd is going on with them. Either way- that is unfair and irresponsible for the children. Can she afford basic care for them? Babies born that early can suffer medical problems for yeaaaars!

Should we be "up in arms"??
ANYtime, the collective "we" have to pay for another's welfare, we should be up in arms and have a say... PARTICULARLY if we are breeding more to feed.
This, of course, comes form someone who believes that if a person is on welfare for more than 2 yrs., that they should have no right to vote. For, in the long run, they will just vote themselves more handouts ...OHHHHH, that's ALREADY happening.

The laws concerning IVF, specifically the number of implanted embryos AND pre-implantation screening, should be changed. Wait, I mean, there SHOULD BE laws!
Over-population is THE largest problem we as a nation AND the world is facing. Breeding an even larger populous of welfare recipients will be our downfall.
What this woman did should be a crime and these children should be taken from her as CLEARLY she is not in her right mind and cannot take care of them.

This woman obviously is mentally ill and the Dr who performed this procedure should be in jail. If she is on welfare...who paid for the fertility treatments? I am normally a live and let live kinda gal but when the welfare of 14 children are at stake I become very vocal.

Just discussing this story w/ a group last night and our collective opinion(s) are:
The Dr. should be in JAIL, The babies/children should be adopted into TWO parent family homes, The Mother should be locked up and psychoanalyzed and THE WELFARE should STOP!
How would anyone in this woman's life (her PARENTS, the Doctor) think that she could possibly care for all those children... financially, physically or spiritually?
Everyone involved has been doing wrong by those babies!

I agree with Jan... it's like that horrible Rusty Yates who continued to knock up his wife who suffered from SEVERE post-partum depression. Love the clown car reference. Clearly the Drano worked. xoxo

I agree- I barely have the words to express how I feel or do not feel about this situation! I'm just still not sure what to say about the whole thing, the kids, the welfare, the infertility treatments, it's certainly crazy business!

I do love "the uterus is NOT a clown car" statement. You're right it's not! I enjoy your blog!!
