Lollipop, Lollipop...Oh, Lollie, Lollie!!!

Sinclair had her first (official) English riding lesson today.  We started Sinclair in the last few months (I started around the same age) and have been riding "Western" (style) for quite awhile. Sinclair and I  were both excited about a new challenge.  I grew up riding and regret I did not focus as much attention on English as I did Western.

Sinclair and I met with "Miss Morgan" who took Sinclair through her lessons  on her gentle, trusted steed,  "Lollie" -- which in turn, Sinclair says is short for "Lollipop"

We laughed when Miss Morgan told Sinclair "put some weight on your irons" (translation: stand taller in the stirrups)  She replied with her comedic "not sure I understand" answer:   "I am JUST two....OK?"

After a great practice session, Sinclair and "Lollie" both got well-deserved treats and hugs!

I find your blog heartfelt, honest, refreshing, insightful and more than half the time really hilarious

Glad to see what a magnificent job you do with your daughter. I live in NY and so many Mom just dump their kids off. I get excited watching your little girl progress. Its obvious you have instilled a healthy level of confidence in Sinclair and it shows.

Keep up the great work!

Very Best, Anne

I am envious your daughter loves it so much. Mine never took to it, as much as we wanted her too

Also, good for you keeping the helmet on her even when she is not on Lollie - A+ you get scored on Precious baby safety

Keep the photos coming

awesome, I agree on the English, started riding western when I was three and didn't get into English until my 20's. It's good to start earlier on the English. Sinclair is precious !!!

WHO is the CUTEST baby in the world!!! And I don't even have to ask what baby has the best dialogue!!!!

"I'm not sure I understand, I'm only two you know!!" I will use that line ( with slight variation) several times today!!!

I am extremely impressed I ride English daily (Southern CA) and her form is pretty damn impressive for two years old

she has great torse length and arch in her back. If you keep her up on this she could really go far. She seems fearless - I cannot get my 5 year old to look twice at our horses. Maybe we can get these two togehter and Sinclair would rub off on Alexis
