Yesterday, my amazing girlfriend, Ryland (aka "JAMP's Mommy") and I hosted a playdate. In typical Mommyzilla fashion, we had a caterer make all our favs: crabmeat in avocado and southern chicken salad, fresh strawberry and cream cake, fragrant orchids and lots of games/videos on hand. Keep in mind, my little Princess was born a month-plus early so she is a few weeks behind on the rest of her group. JAMP, of course is studying for the LSAT in his spare time - he is really advanced. Then her other "squeeze" Fayez, is a year old, so he is leading by example. As you can see, this child had a full head of gorgeous curls and looks like he will be ready for braces soon! We are so jealous since we do not have teeth and only some golden peach fuzz, to speak of.
watched all the babies yesterday in awe recalling what seems like yesterday we were all "with child" - we were in deep discussion among the other mommies talking of different stages or mini offspring were progressing, various products we loved using and how many cheerios our babies ingested on an average day.My daughter is VERY long for her age (even being a preemie she is easily as long as any 18 month old). One Mom asked me "How long has Sinclair been pulling up?" I said "she doesn't yet, but she just crawled for the first time in Ecuador this past weekend, she will gain a lot this month"I inadvertently must have reiterated this story to my husband in front of our daughter before she went to bed. Sinclair went to sleep last night our little 8 month old Princess that crawls a few steps and then rolls, no pulling up - no standing. We are extremely proud of her little skills - alas, she decided to work on her technique at 4 AM today and pulled up and crawled out of her (standard size) iron crib. John and I awoke to blood curdling screams and we rushed to find her sitting up in the floor wailing. After we caught our breath and realized Child Protection Services were not going to show up SWAT style and haul us away, we gathered her up, dried her tears and put her in bed with us, where she slept peacefully. John lowered the crib six inches and it is good to go until the next growth spurt! After all the brouhaha settled, Sinclair got a bottle and a few puppy licks from Oliver, she was very content pulling Dad's chest hairs. As if pulling up was not enough excitement for the past few hours. She looked at her Dad and I and clearly said "Hi, Dad-dee" John and I looked at each other with eyes the size of the rims on my Escalade. "Did she just say what I think she said?" She then teased us and said it AGAIN three more times!!!!!!!!! Dad was so proud and I was deflated! Kidding, I was proud too! Daddy fixed the crib, so he deserves the accolades!
